300 Word Reflection On Project Thus Far:
At first, i didn't know what to expect from "Augmented Reality". However i soon learnt that creating ideas is more than just one process. It is a process of different techniques, aids of elimination and programs... thinking outside the box, literally. Through the use of Augmented Reality to which has influenced my ability to virtually convey concepts, designs, plans and different avenues of real time environments in the field of architecture. The project has been unfolding week by week and coming along well. It is a lesson that i will take with me in future, along with the knowledge of Augmented Reality.
My chosen Architects - Herwig Baumgartner and Scott Uriu, principles of B+U Architects were my inspiration. Constantly pushing the boundaries of architecture and urban design, B+U experiment with spatial concepts and techniques outside the architectural profession; music, science and computation. In saying this, the main fascination i have with their work is the fact that they have created software that transforms 'sound waves' into three dimensional forms to which they create intensifying and curvaceous forms of architecture. And therefore, the way they characterize both a fluid transition between landscape and architecture with formal and structural elegance based on such a theme inspired me to do the same - Create something that was out of the ordinary, and outside of the contemporary architectural norm.
I decided to create an environment based on the "fluid transition between landscape and architecture" creating a fluid-like building to house my spore creature whom also mimics the curvaceous concept. A concept based on a parasitic building environment leaching off the environment - the connection between landscape and architecture, whilst also keeping in mind the forms of the B+U Projects i have based my process on.
As for my project progress, i am happy with my design concept - and the background inspiration, and i am determined to portray it as best i can in the next few weeks.
